We get it.  You're excited about your hair extensions and a little anxious about how much it's going to cost. That's why we ask lots of questions during your free hair extensions consultation. Your answers will help us give you a better indication of the cost. Before we even get into the color options and style ideas, we have to determine the best application method for you. So let's start there.

Which types of hair extensions will work for you? Which ones can we eliminate?

Our recommendation will depend on how we answer these questions.

What do you want to achieve?

Maybe your goal is to add length because you have trouble growing your hair long. Or perhaps your primary concern is fullness or camouflage for thinning areas. And then there's the best of both worlds - you want length and volume.  We have to consider what you want in order to navigate through the available options.

Do you have baby fine hair?

During your consultation, we'll be able to assess your natural hair's texture. If you have really fine hair, it could make certain types of hair extensions a challenge. If your fine hair falls into the super silky category, then for practical reasons we might recommend avoiding hand tied wefts or fusions because the bonds may slip out of place.

Is your hair above the shoulder?

By seeing you in person, we can see how short your natural hair is and assess any interior layering that would affect the finished result. Don't worry, you can still wear hair extensions if you have short or hair with lots of layers, but it may change my recommendation. With tape ins and fusions, we can typically work with hair a short as 3-4 inches.

NEW: If you're in a full-head hair regrowth phase, we have a new hair extensions options for you from ChemoGirls, extensions specifically designed to be applied to new baby hairs.

What's your style?

We need to understand more about your lifestyle and your hairstyle! Do you wash your hair frequently, swim or workout on a regular basis? It's important that we know. Do you like to wear your hair in a high ponytail? Knowing how you typically wear your hair, and knowing the pros and cons of each attachment method, we can better assure you'll be happy with the results.

What about color?

Are you happy with your base color? We can add highlights and lowlights, even pops of fashion color,  by mixing and matching shades from within the palette of available colors. In fact, there are so many pre-colored options, most people don't need an additional color service. But if you are planning a drastic color change, you may need a color service on your natural hair before your extensions go in. Or, if you want colors other than what's available in the pre-colored selections, we can custom color your extensions before putting them in. A base color change or custom color for your extensions will add to the price.

Available Hair Extensions Options

Knowing which type of hair extension is just part of the equation. Next we have to calculate what we need to order: the type of hair, the length, the color, the band sizes, and the density. Here is an idea of the options that impact the pricing. As you can see, options vary by method and by brand, making the cost question impossible to answer without specifics. We know - it's enough to make your head spin! But don't worry, we'll go over all of this with you, we just want to be super transparent about what drives the cost of hair extensions.
